A delegation headed by Winnie N. Chibesakunda, Zambian ambassador to China, visited Fuzhou on April 10.

Director-General Wang Tianming of Fujian FAO and Vice President Chen Chuxin of Fujian Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with the delegation.

Fujian and Africa have a sound foundation for exchanges and cooperation. Fujian stands ready to intensify bilateral ties through substantial cooperation on agro-product processing, light-manufacturing, and interactions between sister cities, said Mr. Wang. And Mr. Chen briefed the guests on Fujian’s interactions with its African sister cities, and reviewed the longstanding friendship between China and Zambia.

The ambassador's visit this time is to present Copperbelt Province which is rich in mineral resources and fertile land. She is keen on cooperation between the two provinces in such areas as mining, agro-product processing, tourism, manufacturing, textile, engineering and energy. With progress made in bilateral interaction, she looks forward to a MOU signed by the two sides to establish sister relationship before the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit to be held in Beijing this September.
