Delegation from the Region of Hauts-de-France Visits Fujian

Salvatore Castiglione, Vice President of the Region of Hauts-de-France, led a delegation to Fujian between May 17 and 18.

On May 18, Wang Tianming, Director General of Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office met with Castiglione. Wang brief the delegation Fujian’s latest economic and social development. He noted the immense potential for future cooperation between Fujian and Hauts-de-France, as both are home to rich historical and culture heritage and abundant tourism resources., and invited the region to attend the major fairs and expos in Fujian to explore cooperation opportunities, such as the Digital China Summit, the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Expo and the China International Fair for Investment and Trade.

Castiglione thanked the FAO’s thoughtful arrangements and looked forward to closer cooperation with Fujian in logistics, textile and tourism.

During the stay, the delegation held an invest briefing to Fujian entrepreneurs, and visited Changle Highsun Synthetic Fiber Technologies Co., Ltd., and Three Lanes and Seven Alleys.

The Region of Hauts-de-France is located in the north of France and borders on Belgium. With a land area of 31, 800 square kilometers and a population of six million, it is a historical and cultural region in France. Home to the biggest young population, it has the largest continuing education base in France. There are three ports, including Boulogne, Calais and Dunkirk.
