A shipment of export goods, valued at approximately $105,500 and fully processed by a state-owned enterprise in the Fuzhou Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), recently departed from Ningbo Beilun Port, bound for the Port of Santos in Brazil.

This marks the successful launch of the Fuzhou FTZ's first market procurement trade export business utilizing the national integrated customs clearance system for overseas Chinese merchants.

Seeking to boost development by harnessing the strength of its overseas Chinese community into a development strength, the Fuzhou FTZ, in collaboration with Rongcheng Customs and the Fuzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, has hosted two online economic and trade matchmaking sessions since July, treating Brazilian Chinese merchants as a model.

Fuzhou is one of China's major hometowns of overseas Chinese, with more than 4.6 million Fuzhou natives living abroad. Many operate restaurants, grocery stores and supermarkets, importing large volumes of goods from China each year. In 2024, China's exports to Brazil totaled $72.08 billion.

The inaugural shipment adopted a market-procurement trade and nationwide integrated customs clearance model, enabling overseas Chinese merchants to access one-stop market-procurement services in Fuzhou while clearing exports through any port nationwide — realizing the vision of "sourcing in Fuzhou, trading worldwide".
