In Dongpingshan Park of Siming district, the clear waters and lush banks of Dongshan Reservoir have become an important resting stop for migratory birds. They perch on branches, singing loudly, or dart through the woods foraging and playing. At Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park, the chestnut-throated bee-eater, hailed as "China's most beautiful bird," has arrived early, soaring gracefully against the backdrop of blue seas and skies.

In recent years, as Xiamen's ecological environment has continued to improve, an increasing number of migratory birds passing through have chosen to stop here to replenish their energy before continuing their journey.
