More than 100 representatives from government departments, national chambers of commerce and trade associations, key cross-Strait industrial parks, and Taiwan-funded enterprises gathered in Xiamen on April 8 for a matchmaking event focused on cross-Strait cooperation in technological innovation and advanced manufacturing.

Senior representatives from the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association and the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland emphasized the importance of strengthening industrial cooperation and improving the integration of regional supply chains to support sustainable, high-quality development, supported by Xiamen's well-established industrial infrastructure.

Local officials and industry experts also introduced policies from the Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High-Technology Industries, which offers a comprehensive support framework combining technological upgrading and financial support.

In 2025, the city recorded an 11 percent increase in newly established Taiwan-funded enterprises and a 10.5 percent rise in related investment projects. This growth is supported by a robust industrial ecosystem; the city's next-generation display and integrated circuit sectors currently exceed an annual output of 120 billion yuan ($17.57 billion), involving more than 2,000 upstream and downstream companies.

The new developments come on the heels of the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade, which introduced a dedicated cross-Strait development zone last year. The exhibition showcased achievements in economic cooperation and featured new products from leading Taiwan-funded enterprises, including Runner Group, demonstrating the continued advancement of regional industrial integration and cross-Strait trade.
