Dehua county, Quanzhou, Fujian province, outlined 2027 and 2030 targets for its ceramic industry at the Dehua Porcelain Historical Classic Industry High-Quality Development Conference, held on Oct 19 at the Dehua Convention and Exhibition Center.

Dehua is the first county in Fujian province and a nationwide pioneer in implementing a new national guideline to boost the high-quality development of time-honored industries such as silk, tea, and porcelain. Jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and five other government departments, the guideline establishes a national-level policy framework for the ceramic industry for the first time.

Under Dehua's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) for its ceramic industry, the county aims to build a ceramic industry cluster worth more than 100 billion yuan ($14.98 billion) by 2027 and 135 billion yuan by 2030.

At the conference, officials unveiled a policy package covering implementation planning, brand protection, key projects and platforms, industry standards, and the development of leading enterprises and skilled workers. The Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology also outlined measures to support the high-quality development of Dehua porcelain, known globally as "Blanc de Chine", or white porcelain from China.

The conference also released a development declaration featuring eight proposals for ceramic enterprises, master artisans, and industry organizations, including calls to strengthen business integrity and maintain market order.
