The forum invited approximately 30 renowned international affairs experts and China-friendly overseas scholars, including Erik Solheim, former executive director of the United Nations Environment Programme, and Pino Arlacchi, former under-secretary-general of the UN.

Centering on Chinese modernization, discussions focused on two key topics: China and global modernization from the perspective of 50 years of China-EU diplomatic relations, and cultural exchanges between China and foreign civilizations related to modernization processes.

Three roundtable sessions were held to enhance international cultural exchanges and deepen overseas academic understanding of Chinese modernization.

Five scholars delivered keynote speeches on China-EU ecological civilization construction, global governance, East-West cultural exchange and communication, and the Belt and Road Initiative.

At the former Japanese Consulate site, Chinese historians engaged with international visitors in cross-cultural discussions, sparking insightful exchanges and the sharing of diverse cultural perspectives.
