Vice President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) Aren B. Palik and his delegation visited Fujian from March 27 to 30.
On March 30, Governor Zhao Long met with Vice President Aren B. Palik in Fuzhou. He said, in April last year, President Xi Jinping held talks with President Wesley Simina, who was on a state visit to China. The important consensus they reached draws up a new blueprint for future growth of bilateral ties. Under the strategic guidance of two heads of state, Fujian is ready to make most of the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, expand cooperation with FSM in business, culture, tourism, poverty alleviation, and Juncao technology, and promote research and exchanges on Austronesian culture.
Vice President Aren B. Palik noted the profound history, brilliant cultures, and successful experience in sustainable development of Fujian Province. He thanked Fujian for its support for Juncao technology cooperation, and looked forward to working with Fujian within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, fishery, and education, deepen people-to-people exchanges, and jointly respond to climate change.
