The seventh Digital China Summit is scheduled to take place in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province, from May 24 to 25.

With the theme of unleashing the value of data elements and developing new quality productive forces, the summit will focus on giving full play to the multiplier effect of data and building digital infrastructure and data resource systems.

This summit is the first Digital China Summit following the optimization and adjustment of the national data work system, coinciding with the inception of the concept of "new quality productive forces".

Centered on the promotion and execution of the "Overall Layout Plan for the Construction of Digital China", the summit will feature an opening ceremony, main forum, sub-forums, and the Digital China Innovation Contest. An on-site experience area will be divided into four sections, showcasing cutting-edge digital advancements across various sectors utilizing technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the metaverse.

This year's summit will place greater emphasis on professional authority. During the opening ceremony and main forum, the Digital China Development Report (2023) will be released, and the 13 sub-forums will delve into topics like data resources, digital security, the digital economy, culture, society, and ecological civilization, all aimed at fostering the growth of new quality productive forces.

The widely acclaimed Digital China Innovation Contest, which drew 27,000 participants last year, has expanded this year with the addition of six new tracks, including data elements, AI, digital finance, smart technology, cultural tourism, and digital audiovisual, attracting close to 30,000 participants.

This year, Hebei, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Guangdong will participate as guests of honor, sharing their experiences in digital provincial development. With the independent setup of the Hong Kong on-site experience area and the cross-Strait integration area, this summit aims to facilitate digital integration and collaboration among these regions.

China will accelerate research into data security technologies, bolster the digital, intelligent and green transformation of industries, strengthen international cooperation in the digital economy domain and continuously optimize regulations concerning the cross-border data flow.
