Foreign-funded companies in Fujian province reinvested $560 million in profits in the first seven months of 2026, up 16.6 percent year-on-year, as they continued to expand their operations. As the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade opens in Xiamen on Sept 8, continued expansion by foreign-funded companies points to their confidence in Fujian's industrial development and investment environment.
Fujian saw 43 foreign-funded projects reinvest $560 million in profits, up 16.6 percent year on year and accounting for 34.2 percent of the province's actual use of foreign investment.
Companies cite Fujian's industrial supply chains, improving business environment, and industrial policies aligned with their development plans as key factors behind continued investment.
Hong Kong-funded Quanzhou Lichang Plastics is expanding production and extending into functional masterbatches, optoelectronic reflective films, and coated films, with the second-phase project at its Shijing base nearing completion, while also developing lithium battery separator technologies for the new-energy sector.
Regal Beloit Power Transmission (Zhangzhou), a unit of US-based Regal Rexnord, plans to reinvest $5 million in retained domestic profits to build facilities and expand its business. Local and provincial commerce authorities have helped the company apply for tax incentives and other policies.
