An 8-member delegation from the Assembly of Regions and Districts of Côte d’Ivoire visited Fuzhou and Xiamen from June 10 to 12.
On June 11, Vice Governor Wang Jinfu met with the delegation in Fuzhou. On behalf of the provincial government, Wang extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided a brief overview of Fujian’s economic and social development. He highlighted that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Alassane Ouattara, exchanges between Fujian and Côte d’Ivoire in various fields have grown increasingly closer, yielding fruitful results. Last year,
China-Côte d’Ivoire relationship was elevated to a strategic partnership. At the 2024 FOCAC Summit held in Beijing, President Xi Jinping
announced that China will work with Africa to advance ten partnership actions for modernization in the next three years. Wang hoped that both sides would take the opportunity to
deepen
cooperation in minerals and agriculture, expand economic and trade ties, jointly establish a Maritime Silk Road school
to cultivate skilled workforce, create distinctive cultural and tourism programs, and
scale new heights in friendly exchanges and cooperation.
Souleymane Koné, head of the delegation and President of the
Kabadougu Regional Council of Côte d’Ivoire, expressed his hope to deepen cooperation with Fujian in areas such as agriculture, digital economy, vocational education, and people-to-people exchanges for win-win outcomes and common development.
The delegation visited Fuzhou Polytechnic, Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, and Xiamen International Shipping Science Innovation Center.
