Second Vice-President of the Cambodian National Assembly Vong Sauth Visits Fujian

From October 25 to 29, at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Vong Sauth, the Second Vice-President of Cambodia’s National Assembly, attended the Second World Conference of Sinologists in Nanping and visited Fuzhou and Xiamen.

 

In his keynote address at the conference, the senior lawmaker highlighted the significance of studying Chinese civilization in fostering a harmonious global society and expressed Cambodia’s commitment to promoting world peace, global harmony and shared benefits through greater international cooperation and exchanges.

 

 

On the sidelines of the event, Ji Bingxuan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People’s Congress and President of the Chinese Association for International Understanding, met with the Second Vice-President. Holding the longstanding China-Cambodia friendship in high regard, Ji advocated for strengthening people-to-people exchanges and deepening cooperation across the board to pursue deeper and more substantive progress in building a China-Cambodia community with a shared future. Vong Sauth said that Cambodia is ready to promote win-win cooperation with China and hoped to see more Chinese tourists and investors in Cambodia.

 

 

On October 25, Secretary Zhou Zuyi met with Vong Sauth in Fuzhou. Reviewing the iron-clad friendship between the two countries and the strong connections between Fujian and Cambodia, Zhou called on both sides to enhance economic and trade cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and sister state/city relationships, and facilitate two-way investment and mutual learning to make new contribution to the friendly cooperation between China and Cambodia.

 

Underscoring the strong bond between Cambodia and China as good neighbors, good friends, good partners and good brothers, Vong Sauth thanked the Chinese side for supporting Cambodia’s economic and social development. He also aimed to bolster cooperation with Fujian across various domains and invited more Fujian enterprises to invest and do business in Cambodia.

 

During his stay in Fujian, Vong Sauth visited Cangxia Community and Three Lanes and Seven Alleys in Fuzhou, Mount Wuyi in Nanping, and Kulangsu Island, Yundang Academy, and Xiamen Seaworld in Xiamen.
